Ken Roble General Nice photo! This line is probably in far better shape than when the Rock had in before they close down. Looks like the line also sees here blue and white units again, but they're nothing the Rock ever rostered! 10/3/2005 11:01:28 PM
Larry Hawkes General Nice shot! My friend just sent me photos of their newly-acquired Ex-Conrail GP38's. 5/7/2006 11:15:40 AM
Zach Pumphery General Rock Island owned GP38's, just not those, hahaha. 1/22/2007 7:44:18 PM
Joe Usselman General nice shot! 5/6/2007 1:23:33 PM
Jeff Carlson General Great shot! 1/31/2008 11:32:51 PM
David Stewart General Sweet shot, Nice & clean! 4/19/2008 8:37:22 PM
David Stewart General Some thing is funny about this unit, There were not any as built low hood GP7s. It has a GP20 type nose, Must be several units put together> 4/19/2008 8:40:35 PM
Shawn Noe General Those are SD38-2, odd to see that little GP in front..... MUTT n JEFF style 6/16/2008 11:31:29 PM
Casey Burg General unit is a GP 10, rebuilt by ICG. 10/20/2008 5:52:59 PM
William H. Davis Jr. General Awesome shot 1/27/2009 1:12:03 PM
Jeff Carlson General Actually, no. The 400 had been Rock Island #1275, and was the only RI unit on the IAIS roster. It was one of two GP7's that the Rock rebuilt with low noses following accidents. Great shot. 5/10/2009 11:48:15 AM
Matt Hagfors General This unit still lives on in MN. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1734473 1/14/2010 12:29:27 AM
Atlanta Rails General Great shot! 6 years and now they have the GP7's replaced by GEVO's, pretty dramatic change. 1/15/2011 6:46:47 PM
David Nutter General Nice shot 3/4/2011 11:07:28 PM
Abrar Mohamed General great catch. :D 8/15/2011 1:30:04 AM
Fred Stuckmann General Very nice. 10/24/2011 6:22:40 PM
Roberto Alaniz General Excellent photo. 11/4/2012 1:17:52 AM
Mike Maskel General GREAT SHOT 12/5/2012 10:47:29 PM
Joe Atkinson General To add to Jeff Carlson's comment, the 400 was rebuilt the first time by the RI at which point it received an EMD factory low nose with sloped top, as opposed to the flat-top Paducah rebuild chop noses. It was rebuilt a second time by the IAIS following another grade crossing accident, and in that work, it received a new long hood from IAIS (ex-ICG) GP8 7976. It reentered service following that rebuild in January 2002. 12/26/2018 10:37:30 PM
Tom Beckett General The middle two units look like they came from Locomotive Leasing Partners, based on the numbers, but hard to see if they're the SD 38's I recall. The 2807 was on the NYSW for several years prior to going to IAIS. Home page 07-18-2021 7/18/2021 4:43:22 AM
